World-Class Performance – Is it Achievable?
World-class performance, very common phrase indeed, used often, we think we understand its meaning and nothing is intriguing about it.
But I Disagree, in my opinion, World-class performance is such a common word used on every marketing material, I think it’s often misquoted and not understood in the right perspective.
What is exactly is a world-class performance?
World-Class performance is the highest level that a company can reach within its sector by developing new products and services that exceed customer expectations in a very short time-to-market. To achieve World Class Performance, organizations need to develop and produce products and services that are the best in the world.
The organization should continuously improve processes, it needs to be innovative, agile, and should have a high ability for its renewal.
Becoming a World-Class performer is not something that can be achieved in a few days, but with the right approach can become a world-class performer in your segment.
In this lecture, I have used Value Discipline Model developed by strategy experts Michael Treacy and Fred Wiersema in the 1990s,this model has three core strategies
1- Operational Excellence – automating manufacturing processes and work procedures to streamline operations and reduce costs.
2- Customer Intimacy – Providing a unique range of customer services to personalize services and customize products to meet differing needs.
3- Product Leadership – achieving premium market prices due to the experience created for customers.
